UPDATE: New workshops and dates can be found here

Ever wanted to graft your own fruit trees? To preserve old varieties, start a whole orchard on a budget, or have multiple fruit types growing on the one tree?   Well, now’s your chance. This winter we are running our first ever grafting workshop at Heritage Farm in Moorooduc. Joining us will be Master Grafter, Neil Barraclough.   The workshop runs for three hours, with a break in the middle for morning tea. (Please let us know any dietary requirements for catering purposes). The workshop itself will include the theory of grafting, with a print-out to take home (in case you need a reminder when you try it on your own next winter). But mostly it will be hands on. There will be plenty of prunings available to practise your technique on, and guidance from both Neil and Rachael. The price of the workshop includes taking one grafted tree of your choice home with you, with extra scion, rootstock or freshly grafted trees available for purchase on the day. We will provide grafting knives for you to practise with during the workshop, but if you plan to try your hand at home as well, add a grafting knife to your ticket booking and we’ll have one ready to go for you. This workshop runs from 9am until 12:30 on the 4th of August 2018, including a half hour morning tea. Our address is 1494 Stumpy Gully Road, Moorooduc – just off Peninsula Link.
